I am a dev who has a client who ships food items that must be shipped over night or 2-day. They also have other items that can be shipped ground or whatever.
thinking about dev'ing an app that gets its own carrier specific rates, and allows you to set them per product. So I could have one product that requires one of a couple rates, and one that doesn't.
There are a couple challenges present:
1. Not sure if its possible to tie into Shopify's carrier specific rates. It would be nice to provide a checkbox group in the product that allows the user to select from available shipping options, and then on the add to cart, product a dropdown to set product specific shipping
2. If #1 is not possible, potentially doing it through the app (offsite) then pulling carrier rates into the add to cart button...
Any thoughts?
