I think there may have been some confusion here.
The good portion of the Point of Sale app works off of public Shopify API calls. That being said, all orders and information is available directly from Shopify's normal API, as POS integrates directly with your store. That is to say, a POS order and customer will be available from the Shopify API. You can read more about it here: http://docs.shopify.com/api/order ... you will want to look at the source_name specifically to determine if it is a POS order.
That being said, there are a few caveats. Not all POS orders have a customer, and a few other basic constraints. With that in mind, I see no barrier for the app developer to extend the functionality of their application to accommodate POS orders. You would have to contact that app developer however to voice your opinion.
What I think was discussed here is Shopify's roadmap for direct integration into the POS software itself. This is not on the roadmap... all POS order and customer information is fully available to an app developer using Shopify's API.
